A flood of information, fake realities, and bad news every day: the danger of drifting into powerlessness, cynicism, or hatred in the face of global crises has never been greater.
As a curator, how do you empower your audience to act?

Every feeling carries an impulse to act within it. Only those who feel consciously can act responsibly.
The keynote concert “There Are Feelings in the Room” opens up exactly this space of possibility — for festivals and conferences that want to shape social change from the inside out.
What the heck is a
Keynote Concert?
Every story I share comes
with a participatory exercise
and a self-written song.
That way I can create from all
three worlds that are important to me:
storysharing, feelings work and music.
And the audience can
resonate with the topic
on all these levels.
About Dominik Matzka
As a composer, pianist, and singer, I have over two decades of experience translating my feelings into sound. One thing has always moved me: personal stories. That’s how story-sharing and vulnerable encounter became the core of my art — and Keynote Concerts my format of choice.
Just as multiple crises and social division were intensifying, I came into contact with professional feeling-work. Deeply shaken by an interview with deep ecologist Joanna Macy, it became clear to me: I want to care for world-feelings. Since then, I’ve been accompanying people who don’t just want to endure cultural change, but actively help shape it.

Interview with Joanna Macy in „Ursache/Wirkung No. 128: Verbundenheit“
“We believe ourselves to be so fragile and small that allowing ourselves to look at our feelings about the state of the world would tear us to pieces. We fear a deep depression or paralysis. In fact, the opposite is true.”

Es sind Gefühle im Raum (“There Are Feelings in the Room”)
The talk concert about feelings as a force for social change
When issues go global, it’s easy to feel too small — too small for your own anger, fear, or sadness. My talk shows how exactly these feelings become the strongest resource for social action. In it, I share how to find your way out of hatred and powerlessness and back into the capacity to act.
Use the power of your conscious feelings to dig up what moves you in every fiber of your being — and to infect others with your fire.
